What separates a founder who survives the first three years from one who doesn't? Lucas and Luna sift through the wreckage and the wins of first-time entrepreneurs — from the solo developer who built a $2M ARR SaaS on zero funding to the restaurateur who burned $400K of family money on a concept that never opened. Each episode takes a single founder's arc: the pitch that worked, the co-founder blowup, the pricing mistake that nearly killed the company, the moment they almost quit. Lucas brings the numbers — customer acquisition cost, churn rate, monthly burn — while Luna pushes on the psychology: what did you tell yourself at 2 a.m. when the servers went down and payroll was due? No heroic narratives, no 'just believe in yourself.' They map failure patterns — premature scaling, product-market drift, co-founder misalignment — against real P&Ls and cap tables. The listener is someone building a first business or investing in one: you want the post-mortem before you make your own. Every c

How Founders Burn Through Cash Before They Know It
Sep 29, 202613 minS5
First-time founders often mistake cash flow for profitability, leading to a silent killer known as the 'burn rate trap.' In this episode of The Founder's Journey, Lucas and Luna dissect why smart entrepreneurs can run out of runway in months despite having strong revenue. We examine the specific mechanics of operating leverage, the danger of confusing gross profit with net income, and how to build a financial dashboard that actually predicts survival rather than just reporting history. Using real-world examples from early-stage SaaS companies and retail brands, we show you how to calculate your true monthly burn, identify hidden fixed costs like software subscriptions and contractor retainers, and adjust your hiring plan before the bank account hits zero. This is not about cutting corners; it is about building financial discipline from day one so you can make strategic decisions with confidence instead of panic. #BurnRate #CashFlowManagement #StartupFinance #FounderLessons #OperationalLeverage #RunwayPlanning #UnitEconomics #FixedCosts #VariableCosts #FinancialDiscipline #EarlyStageStartup #SaaSMetrics #ProfitabilityTrap #HiringStrategy #BudgetingForFounders #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Entrepreneurship Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Most first-time founders plan for success. Few plan for failure before it happens. In this episode, we look at the pre-mortem technique popularized by Gary Klein and how applying it to a hypothetical business collapse can reveal hidden risks that standard planning misses. We examine a specific case where a founder’s team assumed their software would scale linearly, ignoring server costs that would have bankrupted them in three months. By asking 'what if this failed' instead of 'how will this succeed,' Lucas and Luna explore how structured pessimism saves runway. This is not about being negative. It is about stress-testing your assumptions with data rather than hope. #PreMortem #StartupStrategy #FounderMindset #RiskManagement #GaryKlein #BusinessPlanning #StartupFailure #RunwayPlanning #OperationalExcellence #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Entrepreneurship #DecisionMaking #StartupGrowth #FinancialPlanning #LucasAndLuna #BusinessAdvice #LeanStartup Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Most first-time entrepreneurs celebrate their first million in revenue as a win, only to watch their bank account shrink months later. In this episode, we dissect the difference between top-line growth and actual cash flow using the specific case of a fictional SaaS company that scaled too fast without pricing discipline. We explore why vanity metrics like total contract value can mask deeper operational inefficiencies, how unit economics determine whether a business survives its first year, and the practical steps founders must take to audit their burn rate before chasing new customers. If you are building a company, understanding the gap between invoiced revenue and deposited cash is the single most important lesson you will learn today. #FounderMindset #CashFlowManagement #UnitEconomics #SaaSMetrics #StartupFinance #RevenueVsProfit #BusinessStrategy #Entrepreneurship #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #FinancialLiteracy #GrowthHacking #StartupFailures #PricingStrategy #BurnRate #OperationalEfficiency #FirstTimeFounder #VentureCapital Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Why Founders Overlook Distribution Until It Is Too Late
Sep 26, 202611 minS5
Most first-time founders treat distribution as an afterthought, assuming that a great product will sell itself. This episode examines why that assumption is fatal, using the specific case of Dollar Shave Club’s viral launch to illustrate how customer acquisition channels often matter more than the product itself. We break down the difference between product-led growth and aggressive distribution playbooks, exploring how early-stage entrepreneurs can build sales engines before they hit their first million in revenue. Lucas and Luna discuss the hidden costs of ignoring go-to-market strategy and provide actionable frameworks for testing distribution channels with minimal capital. #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #StartupDistribution #GoToMarketStrategy #CustomerAcquisition #DollarShaveClub #FirstTimeFounders #Entrepreneurship #SalesFunnel #MarketingStrategy #ProductLedGrowth #FounderLessons #StartupFailure #ViralMarketing #B2CSales #BusinessGrowth #LaunchStrategy #ContentMarketing Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Most first-time founders think their edge is a better product or a clever algorithm. In reality, the companies that survive the first three years usually share one invisible trait: an unfair advantage built on access, not invention. This episode dissects why distribution networks and pre-existing relationships matter far more than initial ideas. We look at how early-stage builders leverage what they already have—industry contacts, specialized knowledge, or community trust—to bypass the cold-start problem that kills so many ventures. If you are launching something new, this conversation will challenge your assumption that you need to build everything from scratch. Instead, we explore how to audit your own network for hidden leverage points that can accelerate traction before you ever write code or print business cards. #FounderAdvantage #UnfairAdvantage #StartupStrategy #FirstTimeFounders #BusinessGrowth #NetworkEffects #ColdStartProblem #DistributionChannel #EarlyStageVentures #PreSalesValidation #RelationshipCapital #MarketEntry #CustomerAcquisition #BusinessModels #EntrepreneurshipTips #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #StartupLessons Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.

What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
