Lucas and Luna dissect the marketing funnel from top to bottom, analyzing conversion strategies at each stage. From awareness campaigns that generate qualified leads to middle-funnel nurturing tactics and bottom-funnel closing techniques, they ground every discussion in real metrics—click-through rates, cost-per-acquisition, and conversion lift. In one episode, they examine how a B2B SaaS company optimized its email sequences to move trial users to paid; in another, they break down a direct-to-consumer brand’s retargeting campaign that recovered 15% of abandoned carts. Lucas brings the journalistic rigor, citing studies from Nielsen and HubSpot, while Luna challenges assumptions with on-the-ground examples from her work with startups. This is not a theory-only show: each episode ends with a specific tension—like whether top-funnel brand spend can be justified when bottom-funnel metrics lag, or how to balance automated nurture with human sales calls. How a Single Checkout Countdown Timer Lifted Conversions 18 Percent
Aug 18, 20268 minS4
In episode 161 of The Funnel Podcast, Lucas and Luna dive into a counterintuitive experiment: adding a simple countdown timer to the checkout page of a DTC skincare brand lifted conversions by 18 percent. They break down the psychology behind urgency, why the timer worked for this specific audience, and how to avoid the common pitfalls that turn urgency into distrust. With a sharp focus on the numbers and a skeptical eye on the 'percent lift illusion,' they explore whether the timer's effect was real or just a short-term blip. The conversation includes practical tips on testing urgency cues ethically, measuring true lift, and knowing when a timer is right for your funnel. If you're optimizing checkout, this episode gives you a concrete tactic and the framework to evaluate it. #CheckoutOptimization #ConversionRate #UrgencyMarketing #CountdownTimer #Ecommerce #DigitalMarketing #ABTesting #ConsumerPsychology #FunnelStrategy #DTCPodcast #SkincareBrand #MarketingExperiment #ConversionLift #UrgencyCue #MarketingPodcast #BusinessPodcast #FexingoBusiness #TheFunnelPodcast Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
How a Single Trust Badge Cut Form Friction 26 Percent
Aug 17, 202610 minS4
In this episode, Lucas and Luna unpack the surprising lift that came from a single, strategically placed trust badge on a checkout form. They walk through a real-world test where adding one small SSL-and-payment icon next to the payment fields reduced form abandonment by 26 percent, and they dig into why the badge worked where others failed. Along the way, they discuss the psychology of trust cues, the risk of badge clutter, and how to sequence trust signals for maximum impact. If you've ever wondered whether trust badges actually move the needle or just take up space, this episode gives you a concrete framework for testing them on your own site. Plus, they touch on the broader lesson: sometimes the smallest changes, grounded in a clear understanding of user anxiety, outperform sprawling redesigns. #TrustBadge #ConversionRate #CheckoutOptimization #ABTesting #EcommerceMarketing #FormDesign #UserTrust #MarketingPsychology #ConversionStrategy #FunnelOptimization #CustomerAnxiety #PaymentSecurity #SSLBadge #ConversionLift #MarketingExperiments #OnlineCheckout #DigitalMarketing #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Lucas and Luna unpack why a 40 percent conversion lift on a tiny baseline can be meaningless, and how to read results in context. They use a real ecommerce example: a checkout page tweak that showed a 35 percent lift on a 0.4 percent conversion rate, which actually meant only two extra orders per thousand visitors. They discuss statistical significance, baseline rates, and the dangers of chasing headline numbers. They also share a framework for prioritizing experiments based on absolute impact, not just relative lift. The episode closes with a practical tip: always ask what the baseline was before celebrating a percentage jump. A quick, honest note about listener support is woven in naturally. #ConversionRateOptimization #ABTesting #MarketingAnalytics #Ecommerce #CheckoutOptimization #StatisticalSignificance #DataDrivenMarketing #Business #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Marketing #DigitalMarketing #GrowthMarketing #Experimentation #CRO #EcommerceMarketing #MarketingPodcast #LucasAndLuna Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
How One Guarantee Badge Cut Checkout Hesitation 23 Percent
Aug 15, 20269 minS4
In this episode of The Funnel Podcast, Lucas and Luna break down a surprising conversion leak that most stores miss: the moment of hesitation right before checkout. They examine a real-world case where adding a single trust badge — a simple '30-day money-back guarantee' icon — lifted checkout completion by 23 percent. But this isn't just about slapping on a badge. The hosts dig into why the badge worked, how it interacts with return policies and customer psychology, and how to test it for your own funnel. They also share a practical framework for diagnosing where your trust signals are weakest, based on a recent audit of a mid-sized e-commerce brand. If you're looking for a low-effort, high-impact change to your checkout page, this episode gives you a specific tactic you can implement this week. Plus, Lucas and Luna discuss the importance of aligning your trust signals with your actual policies — because a badge that promises more than you deliver can backfire. Tune in for a focused, actionable look at one of the most overlooked conversion tools in e-commerce. #TrustBadge #CheckoutOptimization #ConversionRateOptimization #EcommerceMarketing #CustomerTrust #ReturnPolicy #FunnelOptimization #Marketing #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #CRO #DigitalMarketing #ConsumerPsychology #ABTesting #SalesFunnel #OnlineRetail #ConversionStrategy #CheckoutPage Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
How a Single Shipping Speed Toggle Lifted Checkout Conversions 19 Percent
Aug 14, 202611 minS4
In Episode 157 of The Funnel Podcast, Lucas and Luna dig into a deceptively simple experiment: a mid-sized DTC furniture brand swapped its standard shipping options menu for a single speed toggle at checkout. The result? A 19 percent lift in checkout conversions and a 12 percent drop in average order value. Lucas walks through the psychology of choice overload, the brand's before-and-after funnel data, and why removing a decision point can actually boost revenue per visitor. Luna pushes back on the trade-off, asking whether the average order value drop signals a real problem or just a smarter customer. They also explore how the same principle applies to pricing pages, plan selectors, and even email signup forms. If you've ever wondered why fewer options can lead to more sales, this episode breaks down the mechanism with real numbers and a practical framework you can test on your own checkout page. #CheckoutOptimization #ConversionRate #ChoiceOverload #Ecommerce #FunnelStrategy #UXDesign #ABTesting #DTCBrands #AverageOrderValue #DecisionFatigue #SpeedToggle #MarketingExperiments #CustomerPsychology #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Marketing #OnlineRetail #UserExperience Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
