Should Bears join race for Starling?

  Sep 22, 202644 min

As the Raiders and Tom Starling weigh up their respective futures, it's worth exploring whether the Bears have room for yet another potentially outcast Canberra forward, not to mention another hooker. The dummy half has been recently linked to the Sea Eagles. Speaking of hookers, Tyson Smoothy has hit some form as the Super League finals heat up. Also, World Cup squads are being announced and there have been some confusing omissions. And who might be the most likely Perth Bears player to taste Origin footy next season? We are the Grizzwolds! Bears star in Finals as Phinspiration kicks in

  Sep 15, 202648 min

The NRL Finals are in full swing and it's been fun watching a number of future Bears play key roles. It's also hard to not feel inspired what the Dolphins have managed to do in just year four of their time in the NRL, hosting a Prelim and being confronted with similar challenges to the ones we did. Sadly, it was a straight sets exit for the North Sydney Bears. And one of our Super League stars continues to kick goals ahead of his move to Perth. We are the Grizzwolds! A Perth Bears podcast. Chapters: 2:00 - Tyran Wishart is great (and also our future starting hooker) 6:00 - Is coach successor Ben Gardiner saying too much? 10:00 - What we can learn from the Seattle Seahwaks and Sydney Swans 20:00 - Cam Munster links and the importance of a stable halves plan (looking at the Bulldogs and Raiders) 30:00 - Gehamat Shibasaki visits Perth and attends junior Finals 33:00 - Jonathan Sua deal 38:00 - What now for the final two roster spots?

  Meninga turns down NRL assistance

  Sep 1, 202644 min

NRL godfather Peter V'Landys has revealed details of a conversation with Perth Bears coach Mal Meninga, reported in the SMH. Mal told PVL he doesn't want any salary concessions and explained why. We unpack. Also, there have been links of a special FIFO tribute jersey that's divided the base. And future Bear Luke Laulili'i was KO'd in sickening circumstances that left us with irrational, irate feelings. We ran through a number of Bears players that hit the park last weekend and gave some performance reviews. Chapters: 5:30 - PNG got a slap on the wrist 11:15 - Luke Laulili'i KO'd 19:45 - Jack Cole, Apa Twidle, Tyran Wishart, Sifa Talakai 30:00 - Mal don't want no concessions 35:00 - The FIFO jersey design leak 39:45 - What we can learn from the Sam Walker injury We are the Grizzwolds! Why Mal shut down AJ Brimson links

  Aug 25, 202644 min

After reports the Titans granted AJ Brimson permission to explore other options, the next natural step for media was to formulate links getting him to the Perth Bears. But it was never that simple. We break down why that one was knocked on the head. Also on today's show, we do a bit of a roster check, given we aren't really positioned to take on a Brimson-sized salary... so are we virtually done? Plus, we've got a bunch of future Bears killing it for their current clubs. We go over some of the more noteworthy contributors from around the grounds. Chapters: 3:00 - How many roster spots do we have? 7:30 - Ashton Warwick - remember the name 15:30 - The AJ Brimson links 21:00 - Asher Chapman is a Perth Bear 24:30 - We're reportedly snagging forward Zac Lipowicz 28:45 - The latest on Bulldog Jacob Preston 32:00 - Around the grounds on Jack Cole, Sifa Talakai, Harry Newman, James McDonnell, Tyran Wishart, Liam Henry, Apa Twidle and Sean Russell.
