Episode #56
Factions of the Present Age: The Powers Between Crowns
Who can make help arrive after a crown's authority runs out? From the hidden stacks beneath Waterdeep, Erilian Kantonine follows the Harpers, Zhentarim, Lords' Alliance, Emerald Enclave, Order of the Gauntlet, Red Wizard networks and Bregan D'aerthe through the relationships that carry power across Faerûn. A brass key and a patched courier's cloak lead into a world of safe houses, obligations, rival patrons and dangerous promises. Meet Storm Silverhand, Elminster Aumar, Remallia Haventree, Manshoon, Davil Starsong, Vajra Safahr, Delaan Winterhound, Ontharr Frume and Jarlaxle Baenre. Explore Storm's patient intelligence work, Waterdeep's uneasy cooperation, the changing balance in Thay, and the ways Phandalin's orchard, shrine and miners' exchange connect a small settlement to much larger powers. This telling distinguishes older historical cases from newer setting accounts. It discusses adventure premises and character identities from Tyranny of Dragons, Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Lost Mine of Phandelver and Tomb of Annihilation. Ilyra and her courier journey are original illustrative fiction, not a published Forgotten Realms adventure. Next: Episode 57 — When Other Planes Press In. Visit The Lich's Tale .
