John Allen Muhammad was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as John Allen Williams. He loses his mom to cancer as a toddler, picks up welding and carpentry as a National Guardsman, and fathers two children os a young man. It is not until he meets Mildred Rozell, however, that John learns how to read. Meanwhile, the sun rises on a new day in the snipers’ reign of terror over the nation’s capital, then another. The attackers claim more lives and shoot a school-age child in the stomach. Investigators link the shootings to the same .223 rifle, but who’s behind it?
