Forgiving the Unforgivable Through God’s Word - EPS 111
Have you ever known that God was calling you to forgive someone, but the hurt was so deep that you didn’t know how? Forgiveness can be especially hard when the person who hurt you was someone who was supposed to love, protect, or care for you. You may know what the Bible says about forgiveness, but actually walking it out when you’re still carrying pain is a completely different story. In this episode of The Mom Self-Care Podcast, I’m joined by Lisa Schafer to talk about Christian forgiveness, healing from painful experiences, and how God’s Word can help us begin letting go of bitterness and moving toward freedom. Lisa shares parts of her own story, including experiencing abuse and feeling like a discarded daughter. I also share some of my own experience with the hurt of having a father who wasn’t there. We talk about why forgiveness doesn’t mean pretending that what happened was okay and why part of healing is being willing to look at how the pain is still affecting you today. In this episode, we talk about: What biblical forgiveness really looks like when the hurt is deep. Why starting with what God’s Word says about you is an important part of healing. How unresolved hurt and bitterness can continue affecting your life. Practical first steps toward forgiving the unforgivable and finding freedom. If you’ve been struggling to forgive someone who hurt you or wondering how to begin healing from your past, I hope this conversation reminds you that God sees your pain, His Word still speaks truth over who you are, and you don’t have to stay stuck in what happened to you.
