'Letting a Lover Down' & 'Quitting on a Quilter ' & 'Causing a Lot of Smoke'
First, the plaintiff used to date the defendant. The plaintiff purchased an iPhone and ring for the defendant. After their breakup, the defendant said she'd return the ring and iPhone but never did, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant insists the plaintiff gave her all sorts of gifts during their relationship. The defendant believes the plaintiff is just mad that they broke up. The defendant is countersuing for the deposit on the ring and defamation. Then, the plaintiff says she was hired by the defendant to make quilts. The defendant hasn't yet paid the plaintiff, so she's suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff didn't listen to his instructions, so he doesn't want the quilts and refuses to pay. Plus, the plaintiff hired the defendant to install a chimney in his house. The chimney is in violation, and now the plaintiff has to pay for the proper certification, so he's suing. The defendant claims he told the plaintiff he would do the work, but the plaintiff had to get the proper permits and talk to an architect.
