The Expert Trap : Why Being Right Is No Longer Enough
Aug 12, 202621 minS4
What happens when being the expert is no longer enough? In the first episode of Season 4 of The Pharma Medic, I explore a shift that happens in many careers: the point where your value is no longer defined simply by how much you know, but by what happens because of what you know. We spend years building expertise, gaining qualifications, learning the evidence and becoming the person others come to for answers. But as our careers progress, something changes. Judgement matters more. Communication matters more. Context matters more. And increasingly, our impact depends on whether we can help other people make sense of complexity and make better decisions. I call this the expert trap: the belief that if we provide enough accurate information, the right conclusion will naturally follow. In this episode, I reflect on why technically excellent presentations sometimes lead to no real decision, why completeness can occasionally become a form of self-protection, and why there is an important difference between being correct and being useful. I also introduce a simple framework for important conversations: Data. Meaning. Decision. What do we genuinely know? Why does it matter in this context? And what should happen next? Although the conversation comes from my experience in Medical Affairs and healthcare, the ideas apply much more broadly to anyone whose career is built around expertise—whether in medicine, science, law, engineering, academia, consulting, business or leadership. As our careers develop, perhaps the more interesting question is no longer simply: “What do I know?” It becomes: “What happens because I’m here?” Welcome to Season 4: From Expert to Architect. Be curious. Stay credible. Be useful.

Season 3 Ep. 5: Breaking into Medical affairs roles: Why its harder today and what you can do about it.
May 5, 202511 minS3
In this first part of a two-part series, we take a deep and honest look at why it’s become significantly harder for medics to break into medical affairs roles in 2025.
This episode explores the major shifts that have taken place in the industry over the past two decades, including how medical affairs has evolved from a back-office support function to a critical strategic pillar within pharmaceutical companies. We unpack why today's hiring criteria have become increasingly stringent, bespoke, and competitive, and why even highly qualified clinicians and scientists are struggling to gain their first foothold in the field.

In this episode of The Pharma Medic Podcast, we dive into the rollercoaster that is the modern job search—especially for those navigating careers in Medical Affairs and the broader pharma world. Season 3 Ep 3: The 7 Questions That Turn Followers Into Leaders
Feb 17, 202516 minS3
In this episode of The Pharma Medic Podcast, the focus is on how great leaders aren’t those with all the answers but those who ask the right questions. Inspired by David Marquet, a former U.S. Navy submarine commander featured on Coaching for Leaders, the discussion breaks down seven transformational questions that help shift teams from passive followers to proactive leaders.
Leadership Isn’t Instant—It’s Built Through Smart Followership
There’s a common misconception that leadership is about taking charge, making decisions, and giving orders. In reality, the best leaders first learn how to be great followers—those who ch...

What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
