Lucas and Luna explore the architecture of multi-sided platforms—the marketplaces, networks, and digital ecosystems that reshape industries. Each episode dissects a single platform business, from its fee structures and network effects to the competitive moats and regulatory pressures that define its trajectory. Lucas brings the numbers: take rates, liquidity ratios, contribution margins. Luna pushes on the human and strategic trade-offs: why a marketplace chooses to subsidize one side, how a network solves the cold-start problem, when a platform risks tipping into a monopoly. They draw on real cases—Uber's surge pricing, Airbnb's host guarantee, Etsy's niche positioning—to ground every abstraction in a named company and a measurable outcome. This show is for operators, investors, and strategists who need to understand why some platforms win while others vanish. No hot takes, no hype—just the mechanics of matching supply with demand at scale. What happens when the marketplace becomes th

Why Marketplaces Are Killing Loyalty Programs
Sep 29, 202613 minS5
We examine the counterintuitive shift where leading platforms are dismantling traditional loyalty rewards to prioritize liquidity and transaction speed. By looking at how major travel and gig-economy networks have reduced points-based incentives, we explore whether frictionless commerce is replacing emotional retention. This episode breaks down the data on churn rates when rewards vanish and why operators believe that instant gratification now beats future promises. #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #MarketplaceEconomics #LoyaltyPrograms #NetworkEffects #PlatformStrategy #ConsumerBehavior #DigitalTransformation #GigEconomy #TravelIndustry #RetentionMetrics #TransactionSpeed #IncentiveDesign #CustomerChurn #ValueCapture #PlatformGovernance #UserExperience #EconomicIncentives Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Episode 200 explores the concept of data moats in platform economics. We examine how marketplaces like Airbnb and Uber leverage historical data to create predictive advantages that new competitors cannot replicate. Lucas and Luna discuss the specific mechanics of how user behavior data becomes a structural barrier to entry, making it nearly impossible for startups to compete on merit alone. The episode features a case study on search ranking algorithms and the hidden costs of customer acquisition in mature markets. #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #MarketplaceEconomics #DataMoats #NetworkEffects #PlatformStrategy #Airbnb #Uber #PredictiveAnalytics #CustomerAcquisition #TechPolicy #DigitalEconomy #SearchRanking #CompetitiveAdvantage #BusinessModel #TwoSidedMarkets #AlgorithmicBias #StartupChallenges Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Marketplaces have long been accused of hiding the best inventory behind paywalls, but the real story is about search intent and friction. In this episode, Lucas and Luna break down how platforms like Airbnb and Uber use algorithmic suppression to drive higher margins on less-liquid assets. We examine the specific mechanics of 'shadow banning' low-margin listings and the economic trade-off between user trust and platform revenue. With data from late 2025 showing a shift toward paid placement in local services, we explore whether the marketplace model is evolving into a pure advertising play. Most platform operators obsess over acquiring users, but the real moat is liquidity — the immediate availability of supply when demand arrives. We break down why Uber and Airbnb succeeded not by marketing, but by engineering surplus. Lucas and Luna examine how Airbnb’s host onboarding teams physically drove supply in low-density markets to solve the chicken-and-egg problem, creating a sticky network effect that competitors couldn't replicate. The episode explores the specific operational levers companies use to maintain this balance, from geographic clustering strategies to algorithmic matching that prioritizes speed over margin. In today’s market environment, as September 2026 brings renewed scrutiny on platform monopolies, understanding this hidden layer of marketplace economics is critical for any business building two-sided networks. #MarketplaceLiquidity #TwoSidedMarkets #NetworkEffects #ChickenAndEggProblem #PlatformEconomy #AirbnbStrategy #UberOperations #SupplyChainManagement #BusinessGrowth #TechEconomics #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #DigitalPlatforms #OperationalExcellence #StartupStrategy #ConsumerTech #EconomicMoats #VentureCapital Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
How Marketplaces Franchise Their Logistics Networks
Sep 25, 202610 minS4
We look at how major platforms are shifting from direct logistics control to a franchise model, using Amazon and Uber Eats as contrasting case studies. Lucas breaks down the unit economics of letting third-party carriers handle last-mile delivery while keeping the brand interface. Luna explores the risk of losing quality control when you outsource the physical touchpoint. We examine why this shift matters for margins and scalability in September twenty twenty six. #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #MarketplaceEconomy #LogisticsStrategy #LastMileDelivery #FranchiseModel #SupplyChainResilience #UnitEconomics #AmazonLogistics #UberEatsNetwork #GigEconomyShift #PlatformOperations #CarrierPartnerships #DeliveryScalability #TechBusinessModels #OperationalEfficiency #ThirdPartyProviders #ECommerceGrowth Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
