Lucas and Luna explore the realities of building a second income while holding down a full-time job. Each episode takes a single freelancing scenario—like launching a UX design side-hustle while working in tech support, or selling financial models on Gumroad while employed at a bank—and walks through the numbers: hourly rates, tax implications, non-compete clauses, time budgets. Lucas brings the research, citing Bureau of Labor Statistics data on moonlighting trends, IRS safe harbor rules, and specific case studies of freelancers who built independent income streams without quitting. Luna pushes back on the rosy narratives, asking hard questions about burnout, health insurance gaps, and employer retaliation. Past conversations have dissected the economics of Fiverr vs. Upwork, the legality of using a work laptop for side projects, and the real probability of turning a $500/month side gig into full-time income. This show is for the employee who already has a side project idea—or a stack

How a Chef Built a 12K Side Hustle in Meal Prep Kits
Aug 21, 20268 minS4
In this episode, Lucas and Luna talk to Chef Marcus, a line cook who turned his weekend meal prep habit into a 12K monthly side hustle selling chef-designed meal prep kits to busy professionals. Marcus started by making extra dinners for his gym buddies, then used Instagram to build a small local following. He now runs a subscription service from a commercial kitchen rental, delivering 40 kits a week. Lucas breaks down the economics: how Marcus prices his kits, what his margins look like, and why the 'chef brand' matters more than the food itself. Luna asks the practical questions about food safety, licensing, and scaling without quitting the day job. If you've ever thought about turning a kitchen skill into income, this episode gives you a concrete playbook. Plus, Marcus shares the one mistake he made that almost killed the business in month two. Aug 20, 20268 minS4
In this episode, Lucas and Luna dive into the story of Marcus, a long-haul truck driver who turned his decade of road experience into a $14,000-a-month side hustle as a fleet safety trainer. The conversation covers the nuts and bolts of getting started, from creating a simple online course to landing his first clients through industry networking and word-of-mouth. Lucas also breaks down the numbers: how Marcus scaled from a few hundred dollars a month to five-figure revenue while still driving full-time, and what it took to make the leap to independent contracting. If you've ever wondered how to monetize your on-the-job expertise without quitting your day job, this episode offers a practical roadmap. #SideHustle #FleetSafety #Trucking #Careers #Business #Freelancing #Training #SafetyConsulting #TruckDriver #Revenue #Entrepreneurship #SecondIncome #Logistics #OnlineCourse #Networking #Podcast #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
