The Power of One Decision | As For Me and My House Teaching Series | Ep. 3
AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE — EPISODE 3 The Power of One Decision “As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15 What could happen in your family if one person completely surrendered to Jesus? In Episode 3 of As For Me and My House , Steve Pixler continues exploring Joshua's declaration and the restoration of the Kingdom household . The spiritual battle for dominion is fought on the front lines of everyday life—and one of those front lines runs directly through our homes. Whether your household is a large family, a single person, roommates sharing an apartment, or grandparents raising grandchildren, God desires your home to become a dwelling place of His presence. But household transformation begins with a person willing to say: “As for me.” Joshua had a history with God. He remained in God's presence when others went home. He stood with Caleb against the unbelief of an entire generation. He followed God when doing so was unpopular and costly. His household could follow his declaration because Joshua first embodied it himself. Religion tries to create the appearance of a godly family. But rules, pressure, and appearances without inward transformation eventually produce hypocrisy. Kingdom transformation works differently. Someone becomes willing to repent. Someone apologizes first. Someone stops keeping score. Someone begins praying. Someone opens the Bible. Someone chooses humility. Someone allows God to change them instead of demanding that everyone else change first. Steve shares candidly how he watched his father model this kind of transformation—and how that example challenged him when he became a father himself. Repentance doesn't undermine our authority. It strengthens it. The message culminates in the story of one decision Steve's father made in 1968. Standing outside a church with a cigarette in his hand, the Holy Spirit gripped his heart. He surrendered his life to God—and generations are still living in the fruit of that decision. Never underestimate the power of one decision. Stop keeping score for everyone else. Stop trying to force transformation. Ask God to start with you. “I can't speak for anyone else. But as for me, I'm following Jesus with all of my heart.” IN THIS EPISODE 00:00 — Joshua's Declaration 00:58 — The Battle for Dominion 03:09 — Jesus Is Lord Over the Nations 05:15 — Baptism as Spiritual Warfare 06:13 — The Battle Is Won in the Household 07:21 — Restoring the Authority of Kingdom Households 08:27 — The Battle for Our Homes 10:18 — The Church Cannot Be Stronger Than Its Households 11:23 — The Key: “As For Me” 12:20 — Key People Embody Transformation 13:15 — Joshua's History With God 15:33 — Becoming a Vessel of Transformation 16:10 — Be the First to Say “I'm Sorry” 18:15 — Religion, Appearance & Hypocrisy 19:33 — When I Make a Mess, I'll Clean It Up 20:01 — Learning Transformation From My Father 21:49 — Stop Confessing Everybody Else's Sins 22:40 — You Cannot Force Your Family to Change 23:30 — Repentance Strengthens Authority 24:19 — “My House Is Transformed Because I'm Transformed” 24:40 — The Decision That Changed Our Family 27:30 — The Holy Spirit Gets Hold of James Pixler 28:37 — “God, Start With Me” 29:53 — The Power of One Decision 30:47 — Start With Prayer and Scripture 31:14 — Embody the Presence of God 32:16 — “As For Me, I'm Following Jesus” 33:26 — Closing Prayer SCRIPTURES IN THIS MESSAGE Joshua 24:14–15 • Exodus 32–33 • Numbers 13–14 • Psalm 24 • Matthew 28:18–20 • Romans 4 • 1 Corinthians 7 • 2 Corinthians 10 • Ephesians 6 • Colossians 1–2 • 1 Peter 3 JOIN THE CONVERSATION What if you stopped focusing on what everyone else needs to change and prayed: “Lord, start with me.” Leave a comment and make the declaration: “As for me, I'm following Jesus with all of my heart.” If this message encouraged you, LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and SHARE it with someone believing God for transformation in their household.
