  <b>I headed out onto the Albuquerque Rail Trail with the sun warming me and an icy wind in my face, hoping to piece together another Running Jackal on Tour episode from the Sony audio and camera footage. The trail took us through desert scenery, dry arroyos, cactus, prickly pears, gnarly oaks and some interesting little evergreens, while the distant snow-covered mountains made a spectacular backdrop. We were gradually increasing our running time, and even at about 2,000 metres elevation I was feeling pretty good as we settled into the Jackal pace. Along the way we encountered dogs, cyclists, level crossings...
