Spiritual Endurance ep 1: Before the Crown Comes the Cross with Dr. Ken Kaufman
This episode opens a multi- week conversation about spiritual endurance. It helps listeners understand that suffering is not proof that God has abandoned them. Trials expose what faith rests upon, invite honest conversation with God, and can form the endurance needed to serve others with humility and strength. Central takeaway Faith does not eliminate struggle. Faith brings struggle into conversation with God. Trials do not automatically destroy faith. They reveal its foundation and can produce perseverance when the believer continues turning toward God. God does not require polished certainty before we approach Him. Honest questions, lament, prayer, and continued seeking can become the beginning of spiritual endurance. Christian hope is not the promise of a trouble free life. It is confidence in Christ and His victory within a troubled world. Prolonged suffering can pull a person toward distance from God or toward deeper dependence on Him. That choice is often renewed one day at a time. Leaders formed in adversity can become steadier, more compassionate, and less likely to offer shallow answers to people who are hurting.
