Jesus Shows Us When To Withdraw And Pray
August can feel like a slow grind, even when life is good. I’m C Dub, and while you’re hearing this, I’m out hiking in Glacier National Park, soaking in some of the most beautiful scenery in Montana and doing something my soul needs just as much as my body: getting quiet. Not the kind of quiet where you avoid people, but the kind where you finally have space to hear God again, recover your focus, and come back steady. If you’ve been feeling stretched thin, this short is a reminder that rest can be a spiritual discipline, not a guilty pleasure. We pull a clear pattern straight from the Gospels: Jesus withdrew. He stepped away in sorrow, he stepped away to process, and he stepped away to pray, sometimes all night. That changes how I think about solitude with God, Christian prayer, and even a simple weekend retreat. Time alone with the Father is not quitting, it’s getting reset for whatever mission is coming next. We also get practical about boundaries. The more demands people place on you, the more you have to discern what God actually asked you to do. When you’re anointed, people are drawn to it, and not every request is yours to carry. We talk about being good for your word, telling the truth when you can’t commit, and bringing a Bible plus a pen and pad so you can write down what you’re hearing and check it against Scripture. https://wofoyo.org/ #wofoyo
