We dive into the massive renovation at Detroit Golf Club and what it took to complete the project between two PGA Tour events. Sam also shares some great stories from his career, including a couple of close calls involving tractors, excavators, creeks, and ponds! But one of the biggest themes of this conversation is the people behind the scenes. Sam talks about his staff, the incredible effort they've put in over the last two seasons, and the mentorships, friendships and relationships that make this industry so special. Instead of a traditional presentation, this year's session was opened up for a live Q&A and we turned it into a Turf Today interview in front of the entire audience. We dive into everything from emerging technology and automation to labor challenges and artificial intelligence, and what all of it means for the future of turfgrass management. There is also some great questions from the audience at the end. This episode is packed with insight, perspective, and real conversations from inside one of the most forward-thinking companies in the industry.
