A Gynecologist and Obstetrician with over three and a half decades of medical experience, Dr. Thankam’s commitment to humanity extends far beyond the walls of her clinic: Pioneering Legal Change: As Karnataka’s very first altruistic kidney donor, she fought a landmark decade-long legal battle that transformed organ donation laws in Karnataka. Thus paving the way for non-directed donors to save strangers' lives. Frontline Humanitarian Service: As a volunteer physician with Doctors Without Borders, she has delivered critical care in high-conflict zones, including Yemen, Afghanistan, and Ukraine. Continuous Giving: A regular blood donor with over 75 donations to her credit and a Phase 3 human trial participant for ICMR’s Covaxin.
