UNFILTERED #10 True Leadership and the Price of Cowardice
True Leadership and the Price of Cowardice. Description: Who was Jesus Christ? How does today’s “Church” represent him? And what does it mean to exemplify His character? In today’s Christianity, we hear a lot about the life and ministry of Jesus. Pastors preach from the pulpit how we are to be “more like Him.” We often hear that He was Loving, Kind, Forgiving, and Compassionate, among many other wonderful qualities. Those that name the name of Christ often strive to model this example of Jesus to a lost world. But are we also missing something of greater significance? So let’s cut to the chase shall we? Jesus was also a man that despised evil. In the Bible, in the book of John 2:14-16, we learn something very different than he just solely walked around loving people. Right before He began His ministry, He went to the temple. What He witnessed aroused true righteous anger. He not only turned over the money changers, He cleared out ALL the animals and ALL the people as well! And oh yeah, did I mention he made a whip out of chords? Can you imagine the scene? It’s just a little different from the stereotypical message that Jesus loved everyone! Too many people, in positions of power and authority in today’s Church Inc., constantly tell their congregants to ALWAYS be nice, loving, and forgiving because that’s the way Jesus lived. But that is not the complete truth. We rarely, if ever are taught about His righteous indignation. Why not? Today’s podcast will not only answer some of those questions, but if you profess to be a Christian, it may actually cause you to pause and do some serious reevaluating. So next time you hear a sermon on how we are to model Jesus’ character to a fallen world, ask yourself, are they teaching the true, complete, and absolute life and ministry of Jesus Christ?
