She Was the Face of Court TV - Then She Got Let Go | Beth Karas
Would love to hear your thoughts! Beth Karas started out as a lawyer in the 80s, then in the early 90s got "discovered" while working a case and became the face of Court TV for the next three decades. If you've ever followed a high-profile crime trial, chances are Beth was the lead reporter covering it. She's now a legal analyst across true crime TV, most notably Investigation Discovery, and she genuinely laid the groundwork for the genre as we know it today. In this episode, Beth shares a story that left me speechless. But we go deeper than the headlines. We talk about what happened when she got let go from Court TV, that moment when your whole world stops and you're left wondering "now what do I do?" It's something a lot of us in this industry live through. Me included. Beth and I met at a mutual friend's birthday party, and one conversation about the state of journalism sparked the need to sit down and go deeper. We are both VERY passionate about it. This one is about reinvention, rediscovering who you are, and staying true to the work and the responsibility that comes with it.
