Weekly Torah Reading (Read by an AI Voice)

I have been wanting to read the entire Chumash each week but there are no audio recordings of it. This is an AI version of my voice reading the Kehot Chumash from Chabad. It weaves in Rashi commentary to make it easier to understand. All readings can be found at https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/4292310/jewish/Kehot-Chumash.htm Any errors in reading are due to the AI. I am not looking over recordings before posting so please listen with caution.

If you like the recording please consider donating to Chabad to help continue their effort to make resources like this more accessible to the Jewish population! Devarim V’Zot HaBerachah (Deuteronomy 33:1–34:12) Moses blesses the tribes—Reuben’s survival, Judah’s help, Levi’s teaching and service, Benjamin’s shelter, Joseph’s bounty, and distinct strengths for the others—celebrating Israel’s fortune under the “everlasting arms.” He climbs Nebo, beholds the land from Dan to the Negev, and dies; God buries him in an unknown place. Joshua receives the spirit of wisdom, yet “no prophet like Moses” has arisen since—whom God knew face to face. The Torah closes with vision, blessing, and an open future, inviting each generation to step into the story. Themes to listen for: legacy handed with love, leadership continued without mythmaking, and a book that ends by beginning.

Devarim Haazinu (Deuteronomy 32:1–52) Moses sings heaven and earth as witnesses: God’s perfection, Israel’s early devotion, and later waywardness when prosperity dulls gratitude. Images flash—eagle and nest, rock and refuge—promising vindication after discipline: God will judge enemies and atone for His land and people. Moses is told to ascend Mount Nebo, see the land, and die there because he sanctified God imperfectly at the waters of Merivah. Themes to listen for: poetry as prophecy, covenant love that corrects, and a leader’s final lesson sung rather than spoken.

Devarim Nitzavim (Deuteronomy 29:9–30:20) “All of you are standing today”—leaders and laborers, woodcutters and water-drawers—entering a covenant that binds future generations and converts as well. Hidden sins are God’s to judge; revealed duties are ours to live. Even after exile, return is possible: God will gather the scattered when their hearts turn back. “It is not in heaven”—the Torah is very near, in mouth and heart, to do it. “I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; choose life.” Themes to listen for: radical inclusivity of the covenant, the nearness of obligation, and hope that outlives failure.

Devarim Vayelech (Deuteronomy 31:1–30) At 120, Moses appoints Joshua and strengthens the people: “Be strong and courageous.” He writes the Torah and entrusts it to the Levites, instituting Hakhel —a septennial public reading to renew identity. God tells Moses that Israel will stray; the Song will witness against them. Moses summons elders and officers and teaches the Song to ensure memory will confront amnesia. Themes to listen for: leadership transitions done in daylight, institutions that preserve story, and accountability woven into national rhythms.
