<p>Black Nile have a very different dream of Los Angeles. Their dream is full of improvisation and jazz, Black voices and Black culture living deep in LA's neighborhoods and driving the national culture from the underground. They came up in LA's rich, but little-known jazz scene, getting mentorship from artists like Kamasi Washington and Terrace Martin and coming out of the city's high school jazz band scene. They were recently in residency at MASS MoCA and then recorded their new album, Indigo Garden, at Hen House Studios in Venice Beach. We caught up with them there to talk about...
