  Episode #151

Episode 151: Ride Along, Ride Along 2, 72 Hours

  Aug 26, 20262h 24m

It's a special Kevin Hart (and Tim Story) theme episode of What's New to Netflix this month, but we also go over all of the new stuff coming to Netflix in August 2026 as per usual. The first film on our show stars Kevin Hart alongside Ice Cube as they spend the day together busting criminals and learning to be friends in Ride Along from 2014. Then we catch up with Kevin Hart and Ice Cube once again as they head to Miami in the sequel Ride Along 2 from 2016. And then we watch the latest Kevin Hart film, where he crashes a bachelor vacation in order to connect with some Gen Z guys but ends up getting way over his head in 72 Hours from 2026. All of this plus more movies with Ice Cube and son, some of the worst movies ever made, mixologists, the truth behind fried chicken, Tortilla Soup, a family stuck in a house, animated cats, Smurfs, celebrities hiking mountains, a show that's not as cool as The OC, moms spying on their kids, and incredible dogs! got a suggestion for the show?: whatsnewtonetflix@gmail.com

  Episode #150

Episode 150: Cinderella Man, House on Haunted Hill (1999), Little Brother

  Jul 16, 20262h 30m

What's New to Netflix is alive and well, and we go full speed ahead into some rough terrain with the July 2026 movies and shows that Netflix has got coming out. Also, Russell Crowe portrays a boxer that falls on hard times during the Great Depression but has a comeback that takes America by storm in Cinderella Man from 2005. Then it's the remake of House on Haunted Hill from 1999, which may or may not be too twizzy for audiences that didn't grow up shoplifting nu-metal CDs from Best Buy. And we also talk about John Cena and Eric André's new Netflix movie, Little Brother, which somehow saved the formulaic buddy comedy for the foreseeable future. All of this plus Mr. Rogers, Mothra, Tom Brady, a backwards movie not being backwards, Emeril, two different Ticks, a house on the prairie that some would call little, The Hunger Games, and Will Ferrell as "The Hawk" in The Hawk. got a suggestion for the show?: whatsnewtonetflix@gmail.com

  Episode #149

Episode 149: Domestic Disturbance, Waterworld, Dead Man's Wire

  Jun 23, 20262h 12m

Welcome back to What's New to Netflix, and prepare for the disappointment awaiting you when we go through the June 2026 titles coming to Netflix. Then John Travolta has to protect his son and ex-wife from a murderous Vince Vaughn in Domestic Disturbance from 2001. Next, Kevin Costner takes us to a world far in the future, where dry land is a myth and bad dudes smoke cigarettes and ride jet skis in Waterworld from 1995. And finally, the true story of one man pushed to the edge, a ramshackle hostage situation, and the media circus that followed in Dead Man's Wire from 2025. All of this plus the Riddick and Rocky movies, rom-coms aplenty, World Cup content, J. Lo getting steamy in the workplace, a Neil Diamond tribute band, Viral Hit, new Beavis and Butt-head, and a Divine Comedy dramedy? got a suggestion for the show?: whatsnewtonetflix@gmail.com

  Episode #148

Episode 148: Beast (2022), Thrash, Him

  May 27, 20262h 8m

We are What's New to Netflix, and we're going to break down all of the new stuff coming to Netflix in May 2026, so be sure to take notes! Then it's the first of many one-word movie titles when Idris Elba and his two daughters are stalked by a man-eating lion in Beast from 2022. Next, a hurricane is coming to town, but the worse news is that it's bringing a whole bunch of hungry sharks with it in Thrash from 2026. And finally, it's the story of a boy turned football sensation who gets coached by his hero, and he also has a brain injury, and his hero is really sadistic, and lots of horrific stuff is happening in Him from 2025. All of this plus documentaries about soccer (or football if you'd prefer) and one documentary on a tennis player, but the rest are all about soccer, aka football, probably because of the World Cup. got a suggestion for the show?: whatsnewtonetflix@gmail.com
