Episode 309: Scott Hanson
7 hours of WCYS Podcasting starts NOW! This week, we welcome Scott Hanson, the host of NFL’s RedZone and NBC’s GoldZone. While many of us know Scott from his 10-4 marathons every Sunday, on this episode, we get to hear about a different Scott Hanson-one who started way up in Traverse City, Michigan in a market number higher than most combined football scores. From there, he tells about a moment in his life where he stopped being a sportscaster for himself and became a sportscaster for the audience. Eventually, after bouncing around the country, Scott became the face of NFL’s RedZone. Throughout 17 seasons of seven straight hours of coverage every Sunday, Scott learned how to maintain the energy we love RedZone for. While Scott may be the face of one of the largest sports shows in the country, he doesn’t feel like he’s made it. As Scott puts it, “I am not as good now as I hope to be at the end of next year.” To him, RedZone means being in the moment, doing what he loves, and doing it for the fans. You can catch Scott Hanson on NFL RedZone every Sunday during the NFL regular season, or on NBC’s GoldZone during the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.
