Lucas and Luna navigate the complex world of B2B trade, supplier networks, and channel partnerships in this focused show from Fexingo Business. Each episode examines a specific link in the wholesale and distribution chain — from raw material sourcing and manufacturer negotiations to distributor margin structures and last-mile logistics to retailers. Lucas, with his journalist's instinct for the numbers behind the headlines, brings data on inventory turnover rates, supplier concentration risks, and the impact of tariffs on cross-border trade. Luna, always the engaged interlocutor, challenges assumptions with real-world case studies: how a mid-tier electronics distributor renegotiated terms after a supplier merger, or why a food wholesaler switched from stocking 10,000 SKUs to 2,000 and boosted profitability. Together they dissect platform models like Faire and Zoro, analyze the shifting power dynamics between Walmart and its suppliers, and explore how digital payment terms and supply ch

How Distributors Use Voice Picking to Speed Up Fulfillment
Aug 20, 20268 minS4
In this episode of Wholesale & Distribution with Fexingo, Lucas and Luna explore how distributors are adopting voice-directed picking to cut errors and speed up warehouse fulfillment. They break down a real-world example: a mid-sized electrical distributor that slashed picking errors by 40 percent and boosted productivity by 20 percent within six months of rolling out voice headsets. The conversation covers the hardware and software behind voice picking, how it integrates with existing warehouse management systems, and the surprising benefits around training new hires and worker safety. They also weigh the upfront cost against the operational payoff, and discuss why some distributors are pairing voice with augmented reality for a next-level approach. If you've ever wondered whether voice picking is just a gimmick or a genuine efficiency lever, this episode gives you the concrete numbers and practical considerations to decide. #VoicePicking #WarehouseTech #FulfillmentEfficiency #Distribution #SupplyChain #BusinessPodcast #FexingoBusiness #LogisticsTech #VoiceDirectedPicking #WarehouseAutomation #OrderAccuracy #OperationalExcellence #EmployeeTraining #WorkerSafety #AugmentedReality #MidSizedDistributor #B2B #Business Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
How Distributors Use Slotting Fees to Win Retail Shelves
Aug 19, 202611 minS4
In this episode of Wholesale & Distribution with Fexingo, Lucas and Luna explore how distributors use slotting fees to secure prime retail shelf space—and the hidden costs that come with them. They break down the economics of slotting allowances with a concrete example: a mid-sized beverage distributor who paid $15,000 to get a new energy drink into a regional grocery chain, then had to sell 20,000 cases just to break even. The conversation covers how slotting fees are negotiated, why they're becoming more common in e-commerce, and how smaller distributors can level the playing field with data and category expertise. If you've ever wondered what it really takes to get your product on a shelf, this episode gives you the numbers and the strategy. How Distributors Use Radio Frequency Identification to Cut Inventory Errors
Aug 18, 20269 minS4
In this episode, Lucas and Luna dig into the quiet revolution happening on warehouse floors: radio frequency identification, or RFID. While many distributors still rely on barcode scans and manual counts, a growing number are tagging pallets and cases with RFID chips to get real-time visibility into what's actually on the shelf. We trace a mid-sized HVAC distributor in Ohio that cut its inventory accuracy from 92 percent to 99.7 percent in about a year, and see how that changed its fill rates, its conversations with suppliers, and even its cash flow. We also talk about the cost curve of RFID tags, the difference between pallet-level and item-level tagging, and why the technology is finally making sense for mid-market distributors. If you've been wondering whether RFID is overhyped or underused, this episode gives you a concrete framework to evaluate it for your own operation. #RFID #InventoryAccuracy #DistributorTech #WarehouseInnovation #SupplyChainVisibility #MidMarketDistribution #HVACDistributor #InventoryManagement #OperationalExcellence #Business #Finance #TechnologyAdoption #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #WholesaleAndDistribution #B2B #ChannelPartners #EfficiencyGains Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
How Distributors Use Their Pricing to Win Without Discounting
Aug 17, 202610 minS4
In this episode of Wholesale & Distribution with Fexingo, Lucas and Luna dive into the world of value-based pricing for distributors. They explore how a mid-sized electrical distributor in Ohio used value-based pricing to raise margins by three points without losing a single deal, and how a plumbing distributor in Texas used it to upsell premium lines. The hosts break down the psychology of price anchoring, the dangers of cost-plus pricing in a competitive market, and how to train sales teams to talk value instead of discount. They also touch on the role of data in setting prices and the importance of communicating value to customers. If you're a distributor tired of the race to the bottom, this episode offers a practical roadmap to escape it. No ads, just actionable insights. How Distributors Use Minimum Advertised Price Policies to Protect Margins
Aug 16, 202610 minS4
Pricing is the most visible battleground between distributors and their retail customers. In this episode, Lucas and Luna unpack minimum advertised price policies — MAP — and why they matter for distributors who sell through Amazon, Walmart, and independent retailers. Using a real-world example from a mid-sized HVAC parts distributor, they explain how MAP stops price erosion, keeps smaller dealers competitive, and protects the distributor's own margin. They also walk through the tricky parts: MAP is a policy, not a legal price floor, so monitoring and enforcement are essential. The episode covers practical tools like automated price trackers, how to handle violators without burning relationships, and why MAP enforcement can actually improve supplier trust. If you've ever seen your best product sold for pennies online, this one is for you. #MinimumAdvertisedPrice #MAPPolicy #PricingStrategy #DistributorMargins #PriceErosion #EcommercePricing #ChannelManagement #RetailPricing #HVACDistribution #B2BPricing #Business #Distribution #Wholesale #RetailStrategy #Podcast #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #SupplyChain Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
