Search continues for 'Peanut,' kangaroo missing in Wilson County

The search for “Peanut,” a red kangaroo missing from his home in Adkins, continues. Peanut first went missing Aug. 1 from the Whispering Oaks subdivision north of Floresville. (Click here for original post.) This week, efforts to locate the missing 7-year-old kangaroo have been enhanced by a search and rescue team, said owner Margaret Hosseini-Browder. The team is studying sightings of Peanut and coordinating these with maps, identifying possible water sources he might use, and coordinating specialized equipment, including thermal-capable search-and-rescue drones. “Peanut isn’t ‘just a kangaroo,’” Hosseini-Browder said. “He’s our family.” She’s thankful to everyone who’s joined the search,...
