David Mamet

David Alan Mamet is an American playwright, author, and filmmaker born on November 30, 1947. He has earned critical acclaim for his plays including Glengarry Glen Ross, which won a Pulitzer Prize, and Speed-the-Plow, both of which received Tony nominations. Mamet first gained prominence in the 1970s with a series of off-Broadway plays such as The Duck Variations, Sexual Perversity in Chicago, and American Buffalo.
