About Mary
Mary Dudley, known as Mary Dee, was an American disc jockey born Mary Elizabeth Goode on April 8, 1912. She is widely recognized as the first African-American woman disc jockey in the United States. Dee grew up in Homestead, Pennsylvania, and attended Howard University for two years before having her family. She later studied at the Si Mann School of Radio in Pittsburgh. On August 1, 1948, she began broadcasting at WHOD radio. Her show gained national attention, notably broadcasting from a storefront studio called Studio Dee in Pittsburgh's Hill District from 1951 to 1956. She subsequently moved her program, Movin' Around with Mary Dee, to Baltimore, where she aired from station WSID between 1956 and 1958, and later to Philadelphia in 1958. In Philadelphia, she hosted Songs of Faith on WHAT station until her death in 1964. Dee is considered a pioneer in radio, helping to develop a format that combined coverage of community affairs with music and news. She was among the first two Black women admitted to the Association of American Women in Radio and Television, and she successfully advocated for the organization to hold meetings in non-segregated facilities. Throughout her life, she received numerous awards recognizing her civic contributions. In 2011, Dee was posthumously honored with the Thomas J. MacWilliams Lifetime Achievement Award from the Media Association of Pittsburgh.

What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
