About Sam
Sam West was an American professional baseball center fielder who played for multiple teams in Major League Baseball from 1927 to 1942. Born in Longview, Texas, on October 5, 1904, West was known for his left-handed batting and throwing, and he stood 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds. Over his sixteen-season career, he maintained a batting average of .299, accumulating 1,838 hits, 75 home runs, and 838 runs batted in over 1,753 games.
