About Carl
Carl Allen, born on April 25, 1961, is an American jazz drummer with a distinguished career. He attended William Paterson University and has collaborated with a range of notable musicians, including Freddie Hubbard, Jackie McLean, George Coleman, Phil Woods, and Rickie Lee Jones. Allen has often worked with bassist Christian McBride, whom he met through his work with the Benny Green Trio; McBride recruited Allen for his band Christian McBride & Inside Straight, where Allen contributed as the drummer on their debut album Kinda Brown and during live tours. In 1988, Allen co-founded Big Apple Productions with Vincent Herring, producing albums for emerging jazz artists. His academic contributions include joining the faculty of The Juilliard School in 2001, advancing to the role of Artistic Director of Jazz Studies in 2008 before leaving in 2013. He appeared as himself on HBO's Tremé in 2011, showcasing his presence in popular media. In 2014, Allen formed The Art of Elvin, a group honoring legendary jazz drummers Art Blakey and Elvin Jones; the ensemble debuted at the Percussive Arts Society conference with Allen on drums. In 2021, he joined the faculty of the University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory as the William D. and Mary Grant Endowed Professor of Jazz Studies.

What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
