About Jacques
Jacques Pépin is a French chef, author, culinary educator, television personality, and artist born on December 18, 1935. He has served as the personal chef to French president Charles de Gaulle and moved to the United States in 1959. In the US, Pépin worked in some of New York's top French restaurants and held a culinary development position with Howard Johnson's. He is the author of more than 30 cookbooks, some of which have achieved bestseller status. Pépin has appeared on American television and collaborated with Julia Child on the PBS series Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home, which received a Daytime Emmy Award in 1999. His contributions to culinary arts have been recognized with numerous awards, including 24 James Beard Foundation nominations and 16 awards, the American Public Television lifetime achievement award, and the Emmy Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2019. In 2004, he received France's highest order of merit, the Légion d'honneur, and in 2015 he was awarded the Julia Child Award. Since 1989, Pépin has been involved in culinary education through the Culinary Arts Program at Boston University and as dean of special programs at the International Culinary Center in New York City. In 2016, along with his daughter Claudine Pépin and son-in-law Rollie Wesen, he founded the Jacques Pépin Foundation to promote culinary education, particularly focusing on workforce development for adults facing barriers to employment. He has resided in Connecticut since 1975.

Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
